A national anti-marijuana group co-founded by former Rep. Patrick Kennedy has raised millions to defeat pot legalization initiatives in California and across the nation.
The money will go to marijuana legalization opponents that include law enforcement groups, which are still highly influential despite the recent police controversies.
They need they money. Groups who oppose legalizing marijuana in California have collected 40 times less money than those who support legalization.
Both groups are fighting for influence over the millennial generation, which is quickly growing to surpass the baby boomers as the most politically influential demographic.
