Living Without Food, One Boy’s Rare Disease

Extreme dieters might wish they didn’t have to eat, but living without food is one California boy’s living nightmare.

And he’s not alone.

Carter Stiles has Eosinophilic Esophagitis, a rare disease that makes him allergic to food. It’s forced doctors to insert a feeding into his stomach to provide him nutrients.

The bad news is that more and more people are being diagnosed with the disease; mainly young boys with other allergies like asthma and eczema. There is still no cure.
